What is a 504 Plan?
The main focus of a 504 Plan is on accomodations. Oftentimes 504 Plans are confused with IEPs. While both IEPs and 504 plans feature the same mission of creating the best situation for a student to thrive, it’s important to note the difference.
504 Plans are:
- Covered under a different law than IEPs. While IEPs are covered under IDEA, 504 Plans are covered under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, which is a civil rights law banning disability discrimination.
